One of the most devastating news I heard this week from the
screaming headlines is that of a love
triangle that turned out soar this week at Moi University town campus. I t was just about some campus students who
were entangled in a relationship that was nowhere close to what English calls
faithfulness . And wait , on the fateful day , the guy finds the other duud
with his supposed fiancé . Guess what? Hell breaks loose and he within a
twinkle of an eye sends a colleague to the creator (or whatever the place he
went anyway). The guy did it with zeal that I tell you should be thankful that
you didn’t watch a viral video on the same in the social media . It was harsh, bloody,
inhumane, barbaric and an outright injustice to humanity.
My question then comes, what exactly happened to humanity?
What happened to the world? Like every time I watch news, stabbing never misses
in the list of the achievements of spouses, relationship partners. And I tell you what? It’s kinda an African
phenomena but whichever way, it’s not a lesser evil in any way. It’s a craze
that has taken our society by storm and should stop by all means possible . Methinks that its time we went back to to our
default settings and do what’s normal; Reset the factory settings. The rain has
hit us for so long and I think it’s high time we should tame such behaviors.
God never envisioned jealousy to be our breadth in our
relationships. I think he meant good that love should be core to all and such
Cain like hearts should be not be found at this age and time . as to why the
girl was cheating is another thing altogether . But sanity should be brought
back to our campus students. This why we needed chastity campaign to be funded
more and supported by all the stakeholders. It was by all definitions a noble
cause that shouldn’t have been swept under the carpet for anything else.
Purity in relationships is key and crucial for it to thrive
and I tell you what students , it has been tried and tested . lets embrace peaceful
relationships . Lets speak to our
friends in campus . Let them know that there is more to life than that abusive
sexual relationship that is always punctuated by drug abuse and spiced by
unfaithfulness. Everyone agrees with me
that we have a massive potential as youths. Now that potential is wasted if we
engage ourselves in useless fights that end up not only hurting, friends and
family but also hurts self.
To be sober is free, so is to be wise .It’s never a costly
journey by the way but one that is seamless and workable. The sooner we embrace
sobriety, the better for our lives.
Let’s sober, man up and reset our factory settings
Lastly but not least , heaven is there , hell is real. Where
